About the event

We are excited to present these informative workshops by Armambo Cervantes - a historian of the Salsa genre, teaching throughout Mexico and Latin America. Armambo is also a DJ and the Director of Mambito's Salsa Orchestra.

These truly educational workshops are imperative for all lovers of Salsa, both dancers and non-dancers, to learn the history and roots of Salsa while understanding the music itself.

Day 1 - Musicality & Music Theory  |  Monday, November 13th from 9-10:30 pm  |  $20

 - Understanding & communicating the fundamental elements of Salsa to help you dance and listen to music on a deeper level

Day 2 - Latin Music Genres: Timeline & Orchestral Evolution | Tuesday, November 14th from 9-10:30pm | $20

 - How different genres of Latin music became the hybrid musical forms we hear today

Day 3 - Music Appreciation: From Danzon to Salsa | Wednesday, November 15th from 9-10:30pm | $20

 - The evolution of dance styles from Danzon, a slow, formal partner dance, to Salsa, a lively and energetic dance style
